Khalsa wrestlers medal in Windsor

The Khalsa Wrestling Club of Surrey is boasting four medalists from the recent Canadian Cadet (Grades 9-10) and Juvenile (Grades 11-12) championships in Windsor, Ontario.

Jaskarn Ranu in the 63 kg. class and Amar Dhesi in the 100 kg. group won gold in the Cadet category, and will be part of  a national team which will compete at the World Championships in Hungary in late August.

Manpreet Virk also won gold in the Juvenile’s 78 kg. weight class, while Saheel Khan earned silver in the Juvenile 100 kg. group.

Khalsa club members also excelled at the Junior/Senior nationals in Edmonton. Sukhan Chahal earned a trip to the Junior World Championships in Romania in August, winning gold in the 50 kg. class. 

Fido Sahota won a bronze medal in the 74 kg. category, and has been selected to participate for the Canadian team at the 2011 Junior Pan-American Championships July 1-3 in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

In the Senior division, Gurdeep Beesla at 120 kg. and Manjot Sandhu at 96 kg. won bronze medals.
