Sungod club members competing at Skate Canada Challenge

Sungod skaters Kurtis Hori and Austin Ma are competing at the Skate Canada Challenge this week in Regina.

Two skaters from the Sungod Skating Club are at the Skate Canada Challenge this week in Regina, a qualifying event for the national championships next month.

Kurtis Hori, 19, will skate in the Senior Men’s event, and Austin Ma, 15, is in the Novice Men’s category.

Hori won a silver medal in the provincial championships a year ago, and qualified for nationals in the Junior Men group. Ma placed fourth at last year’s provincial championships.

“We wish both Austin and Kurtis the best of luck in Regina,” said Norma Grant, director of programs for the Sungod club.  “They have both worked so hard it is now their time to shine.”
