Lions, reigning Canada Soccer Player of the Year Christine Sinclair of Burnaby, Pan American Games record holder Dylan Armstrong of Kamloops and Stanley Cup winner Mark Recchi (Kamloops) were also finalists for the award, which recognizes a professional or amateur athlete for outstanding athletic achievement.
