It may be softball’s offseason, but the time of year hasn’t dampened local athletes’ passion for the sport, as evidenced by a handful of pitching clinics that have been filling up.

South Surrey-White Rock Minor Softball Association is hosting a variety of 2019 seminars with age groups ranging from under-10 to U19 and senior ladies, and skill levels starting at the ‘learn to pitch’ level and extending to advanced classes.

The instructor is Ron Clarke, former Canadian national team head coach.

Tuesday sessions run Jan. 8 and 15; Feb. 5, 12, 19 and 26 and March 5 and 12 at Pacific Heights Elementary (17148 26 Ave.). A group of Wednesday sessions are planned for Jan. 9, 16, 23 and 30; Feb. 6, 13 and 20; and March 6 and 13 at Ocean Cliff Elementary (12550 20 Ave.). For more, visit www.sswrmsa.com
