Sungods swimmers compete in Richmond

A pair of swimmers from the Delta Sungods set club records while winning medals at a meet in Richmond last week.

Kevin McDonough, 13, posted the club’s best-ever time while winning gold in the 50 m back stroke race in 31.23 seconds. He was also the gold medalist in the 100m back stroke.

Rosanna Chung,14, established a new Sungods best in her 50m breast stroke race, earning a silver medal with a time of 38.63. She also qualified for the final in two other breast stroke events, placing fourth in the 100m and seventh in the 200m.

Nicky Hou, 17, won a bronze medal in her 200m individual medley race and was also fourth in the 100m back stroke and fifth in the 100m butterfly.

Logan Warkentin, 14, took the silver in both the 50m back stroke and 200m freestyle. He as also fifth in both the 50m and 100m freestyle races.

Cory Bullock, 10, set a new Sungods mark of 3:28.63 in the 200m back stroke, and placed fifth. He was also seventh in the 50 m breast stroke and eighth in the 50m and 100m back stroke, and the 100m butterfly.

Cayden Dececco, 10, was fifth in the 50m butterfly and eighth in the 200m back stroke, while Jenna McDonald, 14, earned a fifth place finish in the 50m back stroke.

Also reaching event finals and placing eighth were Taylor Bullock, 14, (50m back stroke), Tia Dececco, 15, (200m breast stroke), Noah Landry, 11, (100m butterfly), and Elena Penner, 11, (50m butterfly).

Alan Lu, 13, also set a club record with a time of 35.72 in the 50m breast stroke.
