SURREY — Hippie Mike is moving on.
After 10 years of hosting his annual Tour de Surrey skateboard competitions, the city's biggest skateboarding advocate is taking his show on the road.
Beginning this Saturday (July 19), Hippie Mike's Supertour 2014 kicks off a series three events over the two months. The Supertour starts at the newly opened Cloverdale Youth Park (17816 - 64 Ave.) beginning at noon. The Supertour then stops in Burnaby on Aug. 23 and Port Moody on Sept. 6.
Like previous Hippie Mike events, the new tour is open to skaters of all ages and abilities with categories running from mini and beginner to intermediate and advanced. There is also a category for girls.
Cost for entry is $5 or two items for the Surrey Food Bank.
