Team BC records the final out of the first inning against the Northwest Lady Sharks

VIDEO: Women’s Elite play heats up a scorching Softball City

The Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship moves into its final week with Team BC vs the Northwest Lady Sharks.

It’s not your typical Vancouver summer: it’s hot. Very hot.

Softball City’s Diamond 1 has all the best action you’ll find on a Canadian mound this July (unless the Toronto Blue Jays make a run for the MLB postseason, that is), and the Women’s Elite division at the 2013 Canadian Open fastpitch championship is moving into its stretch run, even though the tournament has essentially just begun.

For more information on the game in the video above, and on the tournament, head to CanadianOpenFastpitch.com, or follow along with the Surrey Leader and the Peace Arch News.
