PHOTOS: New music video from Danko Jones features Maple Ridge business owner

Get High was released by the Toronto rock band on Sept. 7

Only a few days after Drake and Lil Yachty were rumoured to have been shooting a music video in Maple Ridge, the four-time Juno Award-nominated rock band Danko Jones also announced that they too had recently shot a music video here.

Danko Jones, a hard rock trio from Toronto, released the music video for their new song Get High on Sept. 7, with the video featuring several scenes with Maple Ridge business owner Remo Colasanti.

This cross-country trip to film the video was something that had been in the works for quite some time according to Colasanti, who said that he has known Danko Jones for years.

“We talked about this over breakfast with Danko the last time I was in Toronto,” said Colasanti. “Danko said he wanted some nice cannabis plants to shoot a video with. I offered him my place and plants in Maple Ridge to use as a set for him.”

As the owner of Remo Nutrients – a manufacturer of micro and macro nutrients plant formulas – Colasanti had plenty of plants to use in the video shoot, so Danko Jones and fellow Canadian musician Damian Abraham travelled from Toronto to Maple Ridge to film several scenes at Colasanti’s home.

The music video features the three men consuming cannabis and partying while Jones mouths the words to his marijuana-inspired new single.

“It was very exciting to be in a rock video that wasn’t one I made myself,” said Colasanti. “We smoked a rockstar amount of weed in the video, and it showed.”
