Here's what's open on Christmas Day 2016.

Did you wake up on Christmas Day itching to get out of the house but with no idea of what's open?

Here's a list of things to do on Christmas Day 2016.

1. Vancouver Aquarium

There might be snow on the ground but the Vancouver Aquarium is still full of aquatic life. Come check out penguins, seals and everything else the aquarium has to offer from 11 a.m - 4 p.m. today.

2. Movie Theatres

The weather outside might be frightful, but the movie theatre is so delightful. Movie theatres are usually a safe bet Christmas Day but check your local theatre's hours.

3. Ice Skating

Lace up some skates, put on a helmet and glide onto skating rinks around the Lower Mainland. In Vancouver, the Robson Square Ice Rink is open from 12-5 p.m. and the West End Ice Rink is open from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. In Surrey, the Cloverdale Arena is open from 12-3 p.m.

4. Skiing/snowboarding

Get out and hit the slopes on Christmas Day. Cypress Mountain is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., on Grouse Mountain has a variety of holiday events open throughout the day, Seymour Mountain is open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Whistler is open with a variety of activities throughout the day. In the Fraser Valley, Hemlock Resort is open 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you head out to Manning Park, you can even find a jolly man in a red suit hitting the slopes to relax after a busy night.

5. Play in the snow

With weeks of on and off snow fall across the Lower Mainland, the easiest outdoor Christmas fun is just outside your front door. So bundle up and get out there!
