Langley RCMP are expected to release more information later today about the discovery of a body in Campbell Valley Park.
The find was reported around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon by a group of school children on an outing with their teachers, according to a parent who told The Times “the kids are very traumatized.”
Langley school district communications manager Ken Hoff told The Times a group of about 10 elementary school students were on a nature walk with teachers when the body was spotted.
“We’re not sure how much they (the children) witnessed or didn’t witness,” Hoff said.
The children were quickly removed from the scene and counselling was being made available, Hoff said
It was reportedly a woman in her 60’s.
It’s not known if foul play was involved.
Homicide investigators have not been assigned the case at this point.
