The City of Surrey has been named one of the top province's top employers for the seventh year in a row, and winning the honour for the fifth consecutive year is Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
MediaCorp Canada annually recognizes British Columbia’s best places to work.
The organization reviews the recruitment histories of more than 75,000 employers throughout Canada and evaluates physical workplace, atmosphere and social health, financial and family benefits, vacation and time off, employee communications, performance management, training, and community involvement.
Mayor Dianne Watts said the award is a reflection on the outstanding employees with the city.
"They have created an innovative, progressive and friendly work environment that encourages individual success and allows us to attract and retain high-quality employees,” she said.
Kwantlen president David Atkinson said he's proud of the accomplishment.
“We are immensely gratified that Kwantlen has once again been recognized as one of B.C.’s Top Employers,” Atkinson said. “Our change from a university college to a university results from the hard work of all those who work at Kwantlen, and who make it the special place it is.”
Now entering its seventh year, B.C.'s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the British Columbia employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
