Deltans got a look at what the TV and Internet provider Delta Cable has to offer Saturday (Jan. 7) during a grand re-opening of the company's store at the Ladner head office.

Inside the freshly renovated space that features banks of flat panel TV monitors, visitors got a chance to see and "test drive" the services while Delta Mayor Lois Jackson was on hand to cut a ribbon officially opening the facility.

"Delta Cable has been an integral part of this community for over 45 years now, and we have recently had an opportunity to re-do our store here and to bring in the ability to demonstrate our products, and invite the public in," said Wayne Rothenberger, Delta Cable's regional manager.

Among the items being showcased were the difference between standard and high definition TV images, as well as the new 3D TV broadcasts.

Following the ribbon-cutting Mayor Jackson told the crowd of her association with Delta Cable dating back to the 1970s and how pleased she was that how in the intervening years the company's spirit has been maintained.

"The outreach to the community, the caring community programming is very unique in Canada today, and I can't tell you how much as the mayor of this community I appreciate you covering those events here to inform our Delta residents about them."
