'Christmas on the Peninsula' this Saturday

WHITE ROCK - Christmas kicks off Saturday (Nov. 29) in White Rock with the sixth-annual Christmas on the Peninusula festival. The Uptown area will undergo its yearly transformation into a winter wonderland, with several new features planned this year. Popular activities will return, including gingerbread house decorating, Christmas performances, "Christmas 4 Kids," the parade and tree-lighting ceremony at Miramar Plaza. New features include candle making and Victorian dance lessons.

Festival founder and director Liv Butow said visitors can expect a great time in the style of a traditional European Christmas.

Christmas on the Peninsula festivities kick off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and run until 6:15 p.m. For a full list of events and locations, go to Christmasonthepeninsula.com.
