The Cloverdale Christmas Hamper Program needs a hand today.
Volunteers are hoping to finish packing hampers of food and gifts for hundreds of families today (Dec. 19), but they are low on certain items.
Cloverdale’s Pacific Community Church has organized the hamper program for more than 25 years. The program relies on the generosity of its community to supply food and gifts. They are hoping the community will come together for one last push.
Food donations are down 20 per cent this year, according to organizers, and the program is in particular need of the following staples:
- canned tomatoes
- Alphagetti-type cans
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- syrup
- sugar
- oatmeal
- pancake mix
- rice
- jello mix/pudding mix
Food, toys and other donations can be dropped off at the Cloverdale Agriplex, located at 17798 62 Avenue on the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, on Wednesday until 8 p.m.
