Despite grey skies and clouds heavy with potential rain, plenty of youngsters – parents in tow – showed up for South Surrey-White Rock MP Kerry-Lynne Findlay’s annual Easter egg hunt Thursday (March 28).
Held at Bakerview Park in South Surrey, the cold and the clouds didn’t bother the children who showed up with plenty of colourful baskets and buckets to collect Easter eggs, play games, get their face painted or even be entertained by Corky the Clown, who was a special guest this year.
“It’s just a fun, family event and a lot of people are home right now because of spring break… it’s a good time to do it,” Findlay said at the event, while handing out treat bags to the children, who has to collect four plastic eggs to earn the sweet reward.

“I enjoy it! I have four kids and six grandkids… it’s just nice to have a family activity before the long weekend.”
She confessed she was a little worried about the weather, but the long line of eager Easter egg hunters showed it wasn’t a deterrent.
“Great to see a good turnout,” Findlay said.
