DELTA — Delta council and Delta school board will have a familiar look for the next four years.
With all 32 polls in Saturday’s civic election reporting, all five incumbents on council (Ian Paton, Sylvia Bishop, Bruce McDonald, Jeannie Kanakos and Robert Campbell) have been re-elected.
Former councillor Heather King has rejoined council after a three-year absence.
It’s much the same with school board, where five of the six incumbents (Laura Dixon, Nick Kanakos, Val Windsor, Dale Saip and Fabian Milat) have been re-elected. They have been joined by a pair of newcomers, Bruce Reid and Rhainnon Bennett of the Kids Matter slate.
Incumbent Donna Burke has been defeated.
Mayor Lois Jackson has been acclaimed.
Voter turnout was 32.11 per cent, slightly below the 33.5 per cent in 2011.
