WHITE ROCK — Candidate Brooke Colby has dropped out of the race for the White Rock mayor's chair, leaving incumbent Wayne Baldwin to run alone.

Colby said his decision was based on a "personal health issue" and that he would not be able to commit the time if elected.

Colby had hoped to pick up where his late father, former alderman executive director of the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce Larry Colby left off.

A few weeks back, Colby had said he decided he’d run for mayor eight years ago when his father passed away.

With Colby now out of of the race, Baldwin is poised to regain his seat by acclamation.
