CLOVERDALE — A couple of former Canucks will be part of a kickoff event Saturday (Nov. 28) at the Save-On-Foods on 64th Avenue, near 176th Street.

The team at the Cloverdale store is celebrating the opening of its expanded kitchen with a Canucks Fan Zone party, to run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A meet-and-greet with Canucks alumni Kirk McLean and Dave Babych will happen from noon to 1 p.m.

Save-On-Foods and the Vancouver Canucks will also draw for prizes, including a pair of tickets to see the Canucks play the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 15.

The Fan Zone is a program operated by Save-On-Foods where account holders earn “pucks” by purchasing eligible products in store. Those pucks can be redeemed for chances to one of more than 1,500 exclusive Canucks fan experiences during the 2015-16 NHL season.

The Fan Zone kickoff party also marks the grand opening of the expanded Save-On-Foods Kitchen at the store, which now offers made-in-store sushi, salad bar, hand-cut fruit and vegetables, salmon patties, seafood and and made-in-store sausage.
