SURREY — Football fans are encouraged to “tackle hunger” at the B.C. Lions’ home game on Friday night (Oct. 14).
Surrey Food Bank and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank will share donations – cash and non-perishable goods – collected at BC Place gates in an annual Purolator-backed drive.
Fans who make a donation can have their photo taken with the Grey Cup between gates A and H at the stadium, from 5 p.m. to the end of the first quarter.
The Lions battle Winnipeg Blue Bombers starting at 7 p.m., in a crucial fight for second place in the CFL's West division.

In 2015, Vancouver fans donated 14,263 pounds of food for local families through the PTH program.
Also on game day, fans can enter to win a pair of tickets to an upcoming Lions home game by following Purolator on Twitter (@PurolatorInc) and tweeting their photo with the Grey Cup using the hashtag #TackleHunger.
