Help clean up the city during Surrey Clean Sweep Week, April 18 to 25

SURREY — The city is holding its annual Surrey Clean Sweep Week, kicking things off with cleanups at a variety of locations around the city from 10 a.m. to noon.

The locations include Guildford Heights Park (10176 154th St.), Bear Creek Park (13750 88th Ave.), Tamanawis Park (12601 64th Ave.), Katzie Park (19373 68th Ave.), Alderwood Park (1761 Lilac Dr.) and Crescent Beach (3136 McBride Ave.).

Residents are encouraged to organize their own cleanup events between April 18 and 25. Cleanup kits can be picked up April 18 from any of the locations listed above or at 9353 160th St.

The cleanup events will kick off Surrey’s 18th annual Environmental Extravaganza, a free series of programs and events that happen between Earth Day and World Oceans Day (April 18 to June 7). More info at Surrey.ca/culture-recreation/533.aspx.
