Man's body found in Whalley house

SURREY - Police are investigating what appeared at press time Monday to be Surrey's 14th homicide so far this year after a 50-yearold man's body was found in a Whalley basement suite on Sunday night.

Representatives from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team did not confirm or deny reports the man had been stabbed or otherwise assaulted.

The victim's identity was not known at press time.

A Surrey RCMP spokesman said police were called to the scene, at 136th Street and 110A Avenue, at about 8 p.m. by Surrey firefighters who were responding to a medical call at the house.
