SURREY — An estimated 600 people turned out for a community barbecue hosted by Surrey North MP Jasbir Sandhu last weekend.
The event, on Sunday, Aug. 31, was held at Royal Kwantlen Park, where volunteers served hot dogs and hamburgers. In addition to lunch, there were games for kids and a door-prize draw.
"This was a great opportunity for me to touch base with constituents before the fall session of parliament begins," said Sandhu, a member of the federal NDP party. "After a busy summer, I am returning to Ottawa armed with the thoughts and ideas of the residents of Surrey North."
