In lofty company: The Surrey Museum is one of 1

Surrey Museum signs up for global Tweet up

On Sept. 16 Tweet your #AskACurator questions to gallery staff at 1,000 museums around the world, including the Surrey Museum.

What’s the oldest object in the Surrey Museum’s collections? What’s it like to be a curator? How are exhibitions created?

Bring your burning questions to the Twitterverse and get answers from Surrey and from museums and galleries around the world on Wednesday, Sept. 16 – Ask A Curator Day.

The global, Twitter-based event began in 2010 as a way to connect curators in museums and galleries across the world directly with museum fans and visitors.

This year’s event claims more than 1,000 museums in 50 countries are taking part, from the Louvre in Paris to the Dr. Pepper Museum (who knew?) in Waco, Texas – history museums and planetariums to art galleries and living history sites.

Tweet questions to museum experts during the 24-hour event, using the #AskACurator hashtag and the museum’s Twitter handle. Ask questions of a specific museum or gallery or the curator community in general.

The Surrey Museum’s Twitter handle is @ASurreyMuseum.
