The finalists for the B.C. and Yukon “Ma Murray” Community Newspaper Awards were announced this week.
Photographer Boaz Joseph is in the top three in the Spot News Category for a shot of a man charged in the fatal shooting of his father (photo below).
Reporter Kevin Diakiw was also shortlisted in the Features category for a story titled Fenced In about an abused woman.
Shelly Foster and Ann Robinson are finalists in the collaborated ad design category for a work called Valley Yarn is Having a Yarn Sale.
The gala event where the winners will be named will be held April 25 at the River Rock Casino Resort.
