SURREY - Surrey trustees voted to raise their pay from $30,800 to $32,000 at a public meeting on June 18, a 3.75 per cent increase.
Previously, the chair and vice chair received an additional $3,000 and $1,500 on top of the base pay.
The change means the vice chair will receive an additional 7.5 per cent above the base pay ($2,400), and the chair an additional 15 per cent ($4,800) The decision was deferred from a March 5 board meeting earlier this year.
School board chair Shawn Wilson could not be reached for comment by presstime.
