Youth parenting organization needs new Whalley home

Stepping Stones supports young parents.

Stepping Stones, a non-profit organization that provides support for young parents, is on the lookout for a new home.

Its lease at Surrey Alliance has expired and new tenants will be taking over on June 1, 2011.

Stepping Stones is hoping to find a "home" that can accommodate its workers and clientele with the following needs:

• Resource room for computers, phone and fax machine;

• Drop-in area for distributing diapers, wipes, formula, etc.;

• Counselling room;

• Classroom area for the Thrive program that begins in September;

• On-site daycare area (it would also be great to have a small outside area for the children play in);

• Small kitchen area;

• Office space for youth workers would be nice but it is not a priority ... they can work from anywhere!

Ideally, Stepping Stones need a location in the Whalley area that is easily accessible by bus routes. An actual house would be wonderful, but

Stepping Stones is  open to any and all options.

If you have any ideas, or can help in any way, please contact Kellie at 604-312-7839 or Karen at 604-531-8932.
