Chopin at the bit

Polish composer Frederic Chopin the focus of musical drama in Surrey on Nov. 5.

Become more closely acquainted with the works of Polish composer Frederic Chopin (1810-1849) and with the sources of his artistic inspiration through Bon Soir Monsieur Chopin, a musical drama starring Maria Nowotarska and Agata Pilitowska.

The play, in Polish with English subtitles, takes place Nov. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Surrey Arts Centre, 13750 88 Ave.

The play, for ages 10 and older, reveals that Chopin was not only a distinguished pianist and composer, but also a fascinating person.

After the performance, visitors will be treated to a short piano concert by Witold Wardziukiewica showcasing the music of Chopin.

Bon Soir Monsieur Chopin is a production by The Salon of Poetry, Music and Theatre in Toronto, and is presented by Artists and Friends of Arts “Under the Wings of Pegasus” Polish Canadian Cultural Society.
