Surrey’s Elaina Moreau is among eight singers in a City Opera Vancouver production next week.

“The Lost Operas of Mozart” is a comedy premiere for the company, which will set a stage at Christ Church Cathedral for nightly performances from Oct. 27 to 29.

In Vancouver, the shows mark a first re-construction of three operas Mozart began but never finished.

In another first, VSO maestro Bramwell Tovey makes his operatic debut.

Each cast member appears in three different roles. Moreau plays Bettina in “Lo sposo deluso,” Celidora in “L’oca del Cairo” and Mirza in “Zaïde.”

Moreau currently works mostly full-time in opera and also does some background work and auditions for film and TV. She considers herself a bit of a nerd, especially when it comes to “Harry Potter,” “Star Trek” and anything from Marvel Comics.
