WHITE ROCK — The Semiahmoo Arts building in Centennial Park will soon be home to two murals by local artist Richard Tetrault, following the city's approval of $21,500 for the project.
Semiahmoo Arts approached the city in December 2013 for the funds, hoping to enhance the exterior of the bare building.
With $150,000 in the Community Public Art capital project budget, council had no problem approving the funds.
"It's a really great use of that space," said Coun. Helen Fathers. "I couldn't think of a better place to put Richard Tetrault's artwork... I'm happy to support it."
Work on the mural is expected to begin in April.
