Saturday night: 'Surrey Shines' at Surrey Arts Centre

SURREY — Rockers, dancers, soloists and one magician will be featured during Surrey Shines, the annual youth talent showcase.

The event is set for this Saturday, Feb. 1, at Surrey Arts Centre, starting at 7 p.m.

"You are invited to witness some of the most powerful performances by our local youth," says an event invite from the Youth Arts Council of Surrey. "The magic, music and dancing will guarantee a fun and mesmerizing experience for the whole family."

Tickets are $15.50 for adults and $12.50 for youth, via tickets.surrey.ca. Doors at the venue open at 6:30 p.m.

The two-hour showcase will feature 16 acts picked during auditions held this month. Performers include Cassidy Poulton, Xba Dance Company, Panic Picnic, Switch to Black, Spiral Dance Company, Angela Boer, Just 4 Kicks School of Dance, Alexis Lynn, Nhemy Cepeda, Billy Hsueh and Alanna & Brianne, The Cut Losses, Sudnya Dance Academy, Richard Tichelman, Miguel Maravilla and Charity Guy, and Victoria Strachan.
