A special donation

Jenica Taylor, a senior account manager at RBC’s Guildford Branch, began volunteer coaching in 2002 and eventually became head coach of the Surrey Special Olympics track and field team.

In recent years, she has also lent her professional expertise to the organization by taking on fundraising and executive roles, learning valuable new skills in the process.

Recently, she helped present the Surrey Special Olympics with a $1,000 cheque through the Volunteer Grants Program at her bank branch.

Taylor said she is thrilled to have had the chance to meet the inspiring athletes who live in her community.

“I love listening to them recall the friends they have found, the memories they have made, the challenges they have overcome and the joy they experience by being part of Special Olympics.”

RBC continues to recognize Jenica’s volunteer efforts with Surrey Special Olympics through its Employee Volunteer Grants Program. Since 1999, RBC has donated $7.2 million to volunteer organizations through the program.
