For a sixth year, TEDxSurrey returned as a forum for technology, entertainment and design (the “TED”) and talks were delivered by a dozen interesting people, each in 18 minutes or less.
Hundreds attended the nearly sold-out event Saturday (Jan. 21) at Bell Performing Arts Centre, including Surrey mayor Brenda Locke and Coun. Pardeep Kooner.
To start off the day, the MEI Screaming Eagles marching band performed. It was a lively way to kick off the event.
The featured speakers, named last October, took the stage in the theatre at Sullivan Heights Secondary for the sixth edition of TEDxSurrey, curated by Alan Warburton.
The event included lunch, entertainment and “energizers,” a speaker’s corner and prizes.

Prior to 2021 the event was known as TEDxBearCreekPark. In 2022, a partnership with Surrey School District welcomed students among the featured speakers.
