Jazz and Blues Festival returning to White Rock’s music scene

The ever popular free musical event of the summer for jazz lovers is returning to White Rock this month with a diverse and talented line-up in store.

Taking stage throughout White Rock’s outdoor attractions, the free performances for White Rock Jazz and Blues Festival will light up the seaside city’s Five Corners and Uptown areas. There will also be two ticketed concerts at Blue Frog Studios, rounding out the weekend of sound.

The festival runs from Friday May 24 through to Sunday, May 26. It will begin with a headliner Friday night at 7 p.m. with The David Gogo Band taking the stage at Blue Frog. Jim Byrnes will be at the same location Saturday night with two shows, one at 7 p.m. with a second one at 9:15 p.m.

Tickets are available for purchase on the Blue Frog Studio website.

Saturday will also kick off the free entertainment with more than a dozen shows at the Saltaire Amphitheatre, Miramar Plaza and more, from morning till late afternoon.

Sunday, May 26 will bring a special feature, called the Casse-Tete Festival of Experimental Music. This will include another day of free outdoor performances at Saltaire from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
