The Highway 99 southbound slow lane through the George Massey Tunnel will be closed Monday and Tuesday night.

The closures from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night are to allow BC Hydro crews to repair the company's equipment within the tunnel.

Drivers are asked to obey signs and the direction of traffic-control personnel, and to use caution near roadside workers.

A Transportation Ministry press release notes this is a continuation of the work to address the temporary repair completed on March 20, which required an immediate slow-lane closure.

"There is no public safety issue," the release notes.
