Next Saturday (Dec. 30), the Langley Rivermen hockey team will host “Sharma Night” to honour Ronin Sharma as they face off against the Surrey Eagles.

Sharma was killed Aug. 21, 2021 in an early-morning car crash that also claimed the lives of his friends Parker Magnuson and Caleb Reimer, on 104 Avenue in the Fraser Heights area.

The game will start at 7:15 p.m. at George Preston Recreation Centre (20699 42 Ave).

Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the Ronin Sharma Foundation and to a scholarship the Langley Rivermen present to a player in Ronin’s name.

Information about purchasing tickets can be found in the Instagram post below.

The Ronin Sharma Foundation hosted the inaugural Ronin Sharma Memorial Tournament in July 2022.

The four-division tournament aims to honour “Ronin’s hockey legacy and passion for hockey through hosting a fun, fair and safe tournament for the hockey community,” notes a post on Ronin Sharma Foundation’s website.
