Last month Black Press announced the launch of paid content for advertisers; the largest native advertising platform in British Columbia.
Regular visitors to Black Press websites and Facebook pages across B.C. may have noticed an additional source of information being made available to them.
Early feedback from local businesses has been very positive. Whether a business has a new product launch, an anniversary or grand opening, or simply to connect with their customers online, Impress Branded Content is a great solution. See advertiser comments below.
Impress Branded Content was recently added to introduce readers to some of the key businesses and individuals in their communities, while giving advertisers an additional way to provide information to consumers in a technology-driven era.
This format is known as “native advertising” and involves advertisers purchasing an “article” on the newsfeeds of Black Press websites. An informational piece pertaining to their business appears on the newsfeed for seven days and resides under the “Impress” channel on the website for 12 months.
A link to the information is also added to the newspaper’s Facebook page and is clearly marked as “sponsored content”, so that readers know it is not a news story. A limit of two paid articles per week is accommodated for advertisers. For further information email: impress@blackpress.ca.
What our advertisers say:
"Native advertising allowed us to connect with new customers we were not reaching before.
We definitely noticed many new faces at the restaurant during and following the Abbotsford News campaign. Combining print, social media and a story on your website really gave our business a boost. Our regular customers loved it and the article reinforced what people love about our restaurant and how long Ocean Park Pizza has been a part of the community."

"Lanka Jewels is an established business in Mission. We take marketing very seriously. Recently we promoted our business through the Impress Branded Content platform and we were delighted with the response. Seeing a story published within your online news channel created an immediate focus on Lanka Jewels. This combined with the post and boost on social media generated great feedback and many shares on our own Facebook page. The real test is to have customers connect with our business, which results in sales and enhancing our brand. Our thanks to Black Press for continuing to offer effective and innovative marketing ideas at affordable prices. Impress Branded Content was, without question, a success story for us and a good return on investment."
