Scene of a deadly single-vehicle crash on Nordel Way on Nov. 29.

Delta Police are asking for witnesses to come forward in relation to a deadly single-vehicle collision that took place on Nov. 29 at approximately 2:10 p.m. in the 10500-block of Nordel Way.

Police believe there were several motorists traveling in the area at the time of the collision and, although a passerby may not have witnessed the collision itself, they may have information about the driving pattern of the vehicle involved prior to the collision.

The vehicle, a green 2002 Toyota Echo, is believed to have been travelling westbound in the far right (curb) lane on Nordel Way before leaving the roadway and striking the overhead sign post. Unfortunately, the 28-year-old male driver from Surrey was killed on impact.

Although the investigation into this collision is in its early stages, police can say with confidence that speed was a one of the significant contributing factors.

Anyone who either witnessed the collision or has information about the driving pattern of the vehicle prior to the collision is asked to call the Delta Police at 604-946-4411, quote file number 16-25080 and ask speak to Const. Lehbauer.
