Man's body found in building as firefighters battle blaze in north Surrey

SURREY — Police are investigating after they say a man's body was found in a building that caught fire in the 10800 Block of 132 Street in Surrey.

RCMP say they went to the area just before 7 a.m. on Sunday to help firefighters at the scene of a fire that broke out in outbuildings in the property's back yard.

A short time later, man's body was found in one of the buildings.

Police say neither the cause of the fire or the cause of death have been confirmed and that the identity of the man is not known.

Officers are interviewing witnesses today and are canvassing the area for more information.
