Police investigate shooting in North Delta

One person received minor injuries following disturbance at a home in the 11800-block of 80th Avenue

Police are investigating a shooting in North Delta Sunday night.

According to a news release, Delta police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 11800-block of 80th Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. on June 11. Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown suspect had fired a firearm during the dispute.

A short time later, one person arrived at a local hospital with a minor gunshot wound. Police say that person has since been treated and released with a minor injury.

A motive for the disturbance and shooting has not been identified.

Investigators will be in the area today to canvas for witnesses and video.

Anyone who was near 118th Street and 80th Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday and has dash camera video or CCTV video, or who saw the disturbance, is asked to contact the Delta Police Department at 604-946-4411 and quote file number 2023-13694.
