SURREY — City planners are looking for public help to design and create Forsyth Park, located at 139th Street at 106th Avenue.
The new 7.5-acre neighbourhood park, located in the City Centre area, south of Forsyth Road Elementary, will be designed to "provide a contemporary urban place for the community to enjoy the outdoors, play in nature, be active, gather with friends and walk dogs in an off-leash area," according to city hall.
The city has been acquiring land for this park since 1989, "with the intention of developing the site into a comprehensive community park," according to a post at Surrey.ca.
The plan is to develop the park with a range of amenities, "including opportunities for a playground, pathways and social spaces, a dog off-leash area, sports facilities and a parking lot."

"Preliminary planning and design for the park is now underway. This process will include a site survey and environmental assessment, online CitySpeaks survey and a public open house," to be held on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
