Deputy Fire Chief Karen Fry said one person was rescued by firefighters but no one was injured. What caused the fire is still unknown.

Fry said the inside of the building is equipped with water sprinklers but the balconies were not. Twenty four units sustained either smoke or water damage.

"Emergency social services have been set up" for the displaced residents, Fry said.
