South Surrey bank robbed using pepper spray

SOUTH SURREY — A South Surrey Scotiabank was robbed on Thursday afternoon by a man armed with pepper spray.

 

At about 12:45 p.m. at the Scotiabank on 160th Street, police say a lone male suspect entered the bank. He then released pepper spray once he was inside the bank and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

 

An ambulance arrived on scene to treat some staff and clients for pepper spray exposure, but no injuries were reported.

 

The suspect is described as white male approximately six feet tall, dressed entirely in black with white sneakers and sunglasses.

 

The man left on foot, and the direction he took off in is unknown. Police are investigating.
