SURREY  — Police have arrested three men accused of being part of a burglary crew responsible for numerous break-ins throughout Metro Vancouver.

"It is thought that this group will continue their crime activity even after the arrest of three of its alleged members," Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet said.

The three suspects were arrested following a series of break-ins in Surrey. Stanley Calvin Price, 33, of Surrey and Wyatt James William, 28, of Kamloops have each been charged with four counts of break and enter with intent to commit an offence, and Glen Allan Nelson, 31, of Surrey has been charged with three counts.

They are to appear in Surrey provincial court on Monday.

Paquet said the burglary crew they are alleged to be members of is particular about the houses they break into. These, he said, "usually include high-end residences believed to contain expensive jewelry, and currency." The burglars typically case a place out prior to entering it, he added.

"Our investigators have been very active monitoring individuals believed to be associated with this group and will continue to do so," Paquet said. "Due to the prolific nature of these crimes, however, we are reminding residents to be extra vigilant in securing their homes and properties."

Paquet noted Surrey typically sees an increase in residential break-ins this time of year as people tend to leave their windows and garage doors open more often.

"As a result, we urge residents to review their home safety measures to reduce their chances of becoming a victim."

Police ask anyone with information to contact Surrey RCMP's Property Crime Target Team at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
