Four people fall ill on public bus in Surrey

SURREY — Looks like we'll never know what that guy was doing on that bus.

"I don't think we will," said Transit Police spokeswoman Anne Drennan. "He was grinding something up. A pill? There was no evidence of any hazardous materials on the bus."

Last Sunday morning four bus passengers feeling ill were treated at the curb, at 96th Avenue and King George Highway, after a strange-smelling guy boarded the bus and was apparently fiddling with some unknown substance. Those afflicted were feeling better a short while later, Drennan said. "They didn't go to the hospital opt anything. The bus was towed and "thoroughly cleaned," she added.

As for the mysterious man? "We don't have anything on the guy."
