Surrey firefighters tackle industrial fire in Port Kells on Thursday morning

SURREY — Thirty Surrey firefighters fought a three-alarm blaze at ABC Transmissions in Port Kells Thursday morning.

Surrey Assistant Fire Chief Steve Robinson said nobody had been working in the building at the time and there were no injuries.

Firefighters arrived to flames punching through the roof of the building, at 9357 193rd St. The fire was reported at about 5:30 a.m. and extinguished by 7 a.m.

It will likely take a few days before the cause of the fire is determined, Robinson said.

"It's probably going to be a day or two before we can get investigators into the building," he said.
