SURREY — Six people were sent to hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after three cars crashed at a busy Newton intersection Thursday morning.

Surrey RCMP traffic crash analysts are still trying to sort out what happened. Unconfirmed reports suggest an Acura Integra heading north on King George Boulevard ran a red light and T-boned a Honda Civic that was turning left off of 92nd Avenue. A Mitsubishi Galant sitting at the intersection was also hit.

Two of the six were taken to Royal Columbian Hospital. The other four sustained less serious injuries, police said.

The crash happened at about 11:30 a.m.
