GUILDFORD — A man’s body has been found in a donation bin near Guildford Town Centre.

A passerby called police after seeing a man who appeared stuck in the bin shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, near the intersection of 150th Street and 104th Avenue.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police do not suspect foul play.

Police have yet to identify the man.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit and BC Coroners service are investigating.

Homeless people have been known to climb into donations bins.

In September 2015, a homeless woman died after being trapped in a clothing donation bin in Pitt Meadows.

She was identified as Anita Hauck, a homeless advocate and frontline Salvation Army worker.

Police and firefighters found her upside down in the bin.

She was taken to hospital where she later died.

Earlier in 2015, firefighters in New Westminster used the Jaws of Life to rescue a man who was found trapped inside another donation bin.
