Woman found dead near Vancouver golf course: Police

Vancouver police say officers are still investigating the cause of death

Vancouver police are investigating a homicide near a golf course in a South Vancouver residential neighbourhood Wednesday.

A Black Press Media freelancer on scene said emergency crews were called to the area of Rosemont Drive and 57th Avenue around 6 a.m. on April 3.

Officers could be seen photographing inside and around a black Acura sedan. A body was next to the vehicle, covered by a blanket. The area around the vehicle was behind police tape and officers were canvassing the neighbourhood.

Vancouver police media relations officer Const. Tania Visintin said officers are “investigating the death of a woman found dead in that area,” but the cause of her death is still under investigation.

Visintin said that based on the initial investigation, detectives believe it to be a targeted incident.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
