Our Hero
Cory passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hospital surrounded by the love of a circle of family and close friends. Cory’s passing drew to a close after a heroic seven month battle with leukemia. Prior to his passing Cory was confirmed the honor of Chief, by his father-in-law Charles Stewart (Chief) and named White Eagle. Cory will be held in the hearts of all who knew him for his courage,
generosity, kindness, love of life; especially the outdoors, fishing in Lax Kw’ Alaams, boating and “The Lake”.
Cory is survived by his courageous and loving wife Pam, sons Kalvin and Cole, loving family: Parents, Jim and Sharron Hunter of Port Moody, in laws Charles and Linda Stewart of Port Coquitlam, brothers Chad (Sarah) of Calgary, Clint (Shannon) of Maple Ridge, sister Courtenay Sorge (Michael) of Langley, brother-in-law Mike Stewart (Maddie) of Port Coquitlam, sister-in-law Jennifer Stewart (John) of New Westminster, nephew Arthur Warren (Jen & John) and niece Chloe Hunter (Clint & Shannon).
A heart felt thank you, to all the staff at VGH who took such great care of Cory. Service will be held at Trinity United Church, 2211 Prairie Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C., at 3:00 PM. October 2. There will be a Viewing from 2:00 - 2:30 PM at the Church. A Gathering will be held at the Coquitlam Hunting and Fishing Hall, 5000 Harper Ave., Coquitlam, following the Service.
