Deborah Ann Smith

With great sadness I announce that my wife, Deborah Ann Smith passed away in Langley Memorial Hospital on November 3, 2017 after a two year battle against cancer. Taken from us far to young Deborah is now at peace.

Born in Lancashire, England- to Pauline and Peter, Deborah was the 2nd child of 5.

The family emigrated to Manitoba in 1967 with a move to Vancouver, BC following in 1974

Deborah could always be counted upon to do what she said she would do and then add that little bit extra. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her integrity, her creativity, her loyalty, her sharp wit and her work ethic. Deborah had a thirst for knowledge and was continually upgrading her skills. She was the go to person for answers.

Deborah loved the thrill and challenge of organizing an event or creating a display. Her co-workers and peers were the lucky ones spoiled with her creativity and magic of holiday displays -especially Christmas - that she would lovingly put together every year. Her dedication to detail was amazing

Deborah was passionate about her garden and created a magical place in and amongst the trees of her backyard. She was an artist and there are few among us that she loved that doesn't have a gift that she created with them in mind and that will always be cherished just as she will always be lovingly remembered.

Deborah was pre-deceased by her parents, Pauline and Peter and leaves behind her husband Patrick King, her brother Rick Smith (Gabrielle), sisters: Cheryl Smith (John), Susan Clovechok (Doug), Ruth Garwood (Richard), nieces, Kristen Maarse (Garry, Camille & Garrik), Lauren McEachern (Joey & Logan), Amanda Rennie, Alison Garwood (Josh), Susan Garwood and nephew, Cameron Rennie.

The family would like to thank Deborah's friend Rosemary Stewart for being such a loyal and loving friend.

A celebration of Deborah's life will take place on Sunday November 19, 2017 at 1:30 pm, Clayton Hills Golf Course, Sunrise Room - 5640 188th Street, Surrey

As per Deborah's request - Keep it happy - no black.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the BC Cancer Foundation are appreciated.
